If you’re scratching your head and thinking, I didn’t know Malori had a podcast?! – don’t worry, it’s not your fault! This is the first post that I have done on Warrior Life Wellness about my podcast and it certainly won’t be the last.
Inspiration for a Podcast
Back in March 2019, after having surgery in Texas to find endometriosis and treat infertility, I received inspiration for this podcast. I remember exactly where I was: driving in my former car which my parents bought from me, in Frisco, Texas a few days before going back to Germany. I knew that I had to do this project in order to help other couples struggling with infertility.
I came up with the name “Restoring Fertility Naturally” and decided to dive into this endeavor. I bought the domain name, had my mom design a basic logo, created social media channels, planned out the first few episodes, made a list of a bunch of people I wanted to interview, submitted the podcast to iTunes and other major podcast platforms, and recorded the first few episodes.
Going Live
I announced the podcast to the world during National Infertility Awareness Week 2019. The response was totally positive and I was stoked to start helping others through this project! Ironically, just a few days later, I found out that I was pregnant. Earlier that day, before taking a pregnancy test, I recorded the first two parts of our infertility story for the podcast.
Restoring Fertility Naturally went live on May 4, 2019, and a couple weeks later I was in the throes of morning sickness. The last episode that I posted last year was on June 3, 2019. It wouldn’t be until one year and one day later, June 4, 2020, that I would air the next episode.
A Re-Introduction to the Podcast
This is where this blog post comes in. I encourage you to go listen to Episode #6: I’m Back! A Re-Introduction to the Podcast and I’d be so happy if you would subscribe to the podcast, whether it’s through Apple, Spotify, or wherever you prefer to listen. Or you can listen above at the start of this post.
As you will learn in the episode, it was more than just pregnancy holding me back from continuing with the podcast. I tried pushing it off and telling myself that I was not the person for this project. But I finally embraced this calling and am back at it! Your support and prayers would mean so much to me.
Spreading the Word About RRM
Restorative reproductive medicine (RRM) is far from mainstream in the infertility world. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, it should NOT be that way! This dignified, ethical, and effective way of testing for and treating infertility needs to be more well-known. My ultimate goal is for RRM to be THE thing that couples think of when they are having difficulty conceiving and to make dehumanizing procedures, like IVF, unthinkable.
I am using my personal experience and professional RN knowledge in order to bring the world this information. But the beautiful thing is that you don’t need to be a healthcare provider or expert in order to make a difference. All you have to do is SHARE: share your personal experience with RRM, share this blog, share the Restoring Fertility Naturally podcast. Let’s get this information into the hands of as many couples as possible!
Let’s Collaborate!
Furthermore, if you personally have a platform and are an advocate for fertility awareness and restorative reproductive medicine, I would love to collaborate with you – whether that’s being a guest blogger, doing an Instagram takeover, or being interviewed on your podcast or radio show. Through collaboration we can make huge strides to making this goal of awareness a reality!
